Panchenko, Yevgeniy Ivanovich
Russian officer. Lieutenant General, First Deputy Chief of Main Directorate of NKS 1986-1987.

Born: 1927.

Entered military May 1951. Completed training at the Moscow Communications Institute May 1951, eventually assigned to the Fourth Directorate of GAU (rocket technology), then later Deputy Unit Chief in the GURVO and TsUKOS space forces. In a long career he worked on the first Sputnik, the launch of the first man into space, and the launch of the Buran space shuttle. Retired in 1988.
