Russian intercontinental ballistic missile. New mobile, solid-propellant ICBM, heavier than the Topol-M, designed to carry up to ten MIRV warheads and to replace the R-36M2 and UR-100N liquid propellant missiles.
Status: Development. Location: Moscow, Russian Federation.
First test launch was in 2007 and the missile was intended to remain in service through 2050. The launch was heralded as an answer to the American plans to install ABM system elements in the Czech Republic and Poland.
