RX-Series

American space suit, tested 1964. RX-1 Litton full pressure hardsuit, weighed 40 kg, rolling convolute joint technology, 2-plane enclosure, modular sizing, 1964. Followed by RX-2, 40 kg. in 1964 and RX-2A, 36 kg in 1964.

Status: tested 1964. Gross mass: 27 kg (59 lb).

RX-3 and RX-4 versions were down to 27 kg in 1966. The suits were pressurized to 0.34 bar but adaptable to 0.48 bar with an oxygen/nitrogen mixture. The RX-5A was the final configuration of this series.
