Tu-133
Russian intercontinental cruise missile. Mach 3 intercontinental range cruise missile, cancelled in 1960 before flight tests began.

AKA: 123;D;Tu-123D. Status: Cancelled 1960. Payload: 3,000 kg (6,600 lb). Thrust: 215.00 kN (48,333 lbf). Apogee: 25 km (15 mi).

The Tu-133 (other sources call it the Tu-123) was an intercontinental supersonic cruise missile based on the Tu-121 drone. Extra range would be achieved through additional external and internal fuel tanks and use of the more economical NK-6 engine. The missile, known as article 'D', was developed in the 1957-1960 period, and would have cruised at 2800 km/hr at an altitude of 20 to 25 km over a range of 9000 km (other sources indicate a range of only 5000 to 6000 km). A thermonuclear warhead of the same type as the Tu-121 would have been delivered with a 10 km CEP. The NK-6 engine would have developed 18,000 to 22,000 kgf. In the face of successful production of less vulnerable intercontinental ballistic missiles, the project was cancelled in 1960 before any flights were undertaken. However the design was developed further and finally deployed as the Yastreb target drone, simulating B-70 or SR-71 aircraft.

Guidance contractor: NII-1 MAP. Maximum range: 6,000 km (3,700 mi). Number Standard Warheads: 1. Standard warhead: 205. CEP: 10.00 km (6.00 mi). Boost Propulsion: Solid rocket. Cruise Thrust: 215.000 kN (48,333 lbf). Cruise Thrust: 22,000 kgf. Cruise engine:NK-6. Maximum speed: 2,800 kph (1,700 mph).
