American communications satellite. The Intelsat 2 series expanded ITSO coverage to include 2/3 of the Earth's surface. Built by Hughes for Intelsat, International. Launched 1966 - 1967. Used the HS-303A bus.

Status: Operational 1966. First Launch: 1966-10-26. Last Launch: 1967-09-28. Number: 4 . Gross mass: 192 kg (423 lb). Height: 1.42 m (4.65 ft).

Intelsat 2A was never operationally useful due to a bad orbit, Intelsat 2B lasted for 2 years, and Intelsat 2C and 2D lasted for 3.5 years each. Spacecraft: Spin stabilized. Payload: Two transponders. Multiple access.240 voice circuits or one TV channel.
