Bachelor of science in aeronautical engineering, Military University in Shrivenham, Swindon, 1977 . Major, Royal Air Force. Helicopter instructor pilot and parachutist. Commercial Juno program. One of three candidates from the United Kingdom for the 1992 European Space Agency selection. He made the short list of 25 candidates but was not selected in 1992 and 1998. Lived in South Africa, working as a helicopter pilot for the former President of South-Africa, Nelson Mandela.
